Towards Spring: Vitality Recovered

Towards Spring: vitality recovered

These days most of us feel more vital. Over the past few months, we’ve somehow stayed more inward, toward what’s closest and most affordable.

In the part of the world where we live, spring is coming. With her there is an increase in vitality that gives a push to both the nature that surrounds us and humans, as part of it that we are, to put into play what has been developing in us during the previous months.

How to take advantage of the effects of spring on our mood?

Sometimes what has been created leads us to grow and have a life with more meaning. Other times, during the winter, themes have taken shape in our lives with which we feel deeply unhappy and now become unsustainable in our daily lives. It may be the need for a divorce, a job change, or a drastic change in your group of friends, for example.

That is to say, Sometimes what comes out is the discomfort that we have been accumulating and it is now when we feel like being better, to feel more comfortable with our lives. However, we don’t know how to do it.

This desire to be better can be used to undertake actions that have been slowed down during the previous months. Some of these possible actions are:

1. Experience what I truly feel, instead of what I would like to feel.

During these days, with more light, with milder temperatures, we are supposed to feel better emotionally. Sometimes this is not so. If there are important issues in my life that are not working at this time, they will become more explicit.

It is usually more difficult than it might seem to assume the vital state in which I find myself, at the same time, it is the first step in being able to decide where I want to go. It helps us to share it with someone with whom we feel trust, it is the way to shed light on the fabric of our experiences.

2. Identify what could help me feel better

If there are aspects in my life that we need to improve, it can help to assess what we could do better.

It helps that this assessment includes what we want, what gives us the feeling that it can help us, not only what we think would help us. This way we intertwine what we think and what we intuit we take ourselves into account in a broad way.

3. Flexibility to change what was planned if this does not help me

Sometimes we embark on a path that we understand is going to do us good and, after a while, we see that this is not the case. I am referring here to when we feel that something is not good for us, even if it apparently helps us because, for example, it calms us down.

It is useful in these situations to cultivate flexibility, to be able to change course, try other directions. Flexibility is something that is learned through practice, it is not as simple as it may seem to change a path that we have decided to take.

4. After a while, evaluate how I feel

If we have started personal work to improve in some aspect, after a while I have to ask myself how I feel. The answers lie in how I think about my situation after this personal work and, likewise, in how I feel. Once again the proposal is to take me into account in a broad and as complete way as possible.

Humans are fundamentally social beings. Therefore it is useful to evaluate how we meet the people who are important to us and in the different social environments in which our lives unfold

5. Help me sustain uncertainty

When there is something in our lives that we feel is not working, it is usually an issue that has been present for a long time and due to a set of circumstances becomes unsustainable at a given moment.

These aspects that do not work are usually complex and loaded with meaning in our lives and in the lives of our environment. We have to discover all this so that something can work differently without us forcing it, but rather it happens by itself. There will come a day when what we have to force will return to the way it was, because no one can always be in that effort That is, these are processes that require patience, work and trust.

The environments and people that we choose to improve help us sustain the uncertainty that these processes entail that we cannot navigate alone.

The exuberance of the force of spring can create beauty in our lives as well as destruction. How we accompany this increase in vitality that we experience is the key to what that strength will be for us.
