Pre-registration is open for the Master in Talent Selection and Management, taught by the area of Social Psychology, Social Work and Social Services, Social Anthropology and East Asian Studies of the University of Malaga, both in its face-to-face modality and adapted to the long distance education. The course begins in the month of October 2023
Under a program that addresses the subject exhaustively, the Master in Talent Selection and Management aims to train students in skills that allow the selection of professionals, the creation and application of training plans in organizations and the construction of a good organizational climate capable of motivating. The professionals who make up the teaching staff have vast experience as human resources managers or consultants, aiming for high-level training.
The Master’s program in Talent Selection and Management
The program is divided into three modules and the completion of a final degree project. Specifically, the Talent Selection module highlights the teaching of competency management in the practice of an organization, as well as the acquisition of selection tools, instructing students in the application of experiential methodology for the evaluation of competencies and situational assessment interviews. On the other hand, in the Training, Personal and Organizational Development module, students will learn to design a training plan and acquire tools to carry out its evaluation.
Given that the master’s degree has a psychosocial focus—proposing students to acquire knowledge about individual, interpersonal, and group behavior—they will also receive instruction on training in socio-emotional competencies, communication skills (empathy, non-verbal communication, assertiveness), in the design of an internal communication plan, and in skills not only in team management and motivation but also in negotiation and mediation to manage conflicts. While the master’s degree is an updated proposal, it is contemplated within the study plan that students learn about the latest methodological innovations in training and use new technologies in said instance
A proposal focused on practice
In addition, the degree promotes the application of the knowledge acquired, which is why it has a module dedicated exclusively to carrying out external internships. The companies in which the internships are carried out are of recognized prestige. A very important fact is that around 80% of the master’s students obtain extracurricular internships in these companies. On the other hand, graduates have a job placement rate in the field of people management that also exceeds 80%.

Another great news is that this is the second year in which the proposal from the Faculty of Psychology is transferred to the Virtual Campus. The program is adapted for online education, in which the student will receive training in skills that allow the recruitment, evaluation, training and loyalty of talent, offering a current perspective, linked to new methodologies and technological development. You will learn about the phases of the selection process, from job descriptions, Employer Branding strategies, to recruiting profiles; to manage by competencies and talent evaluation and loyalty tools; to design selection projects and design reports; as well as to design, execute and evaluate training plans within an organization.
As mentioned, the master’s degree emphasizes digital transformation in the personnel selection process. Within the program, the importance of providing the student with resources to stay constantly updated regarding personnel selection is highlighted; but also in the application of new technologies in training.
