Capture The Moment

How many times have we commented on how quickly life goes by? We live at high speed and always in the same way, anticipating and programming the future and recreating the past.

How many times have we commented on how quickly life goes by? We live at high speed and always in the same way, anticipating and programming the future and recreating the past. This is the cause of this feeling. The worst thing of all is that we believe that we have nothing to do about it, that it is that way and that’s it. This saddens us and makes us feel that we do not “control” our life, that time is slipping away from us.

There is a way to reconnect at every moment, at every moment. Children have that capacity intact, which is why they enjoy everything so much and are so happy. If we look back we will remember that the days of our childhood were long, the summers were very long, the years were eternal, that is why we so liked to count our age from half to half…

Mindfulness gives us back that dormant capacity. It is a practice that helps us focus on the present moment and become aware of every detail. Ultimately it aims to teach us a way of being and being in the world, of connecting with our daily experiences and of fully enriching ourselves from them.

Our senses play a leading role: sight, taste, smell, hearing and touch. They are our connection with reality and we do not give them enough importance. All information passes through them, everything we are is thanks to them, brain connections are given from them and knowledge, wisdom, experience began in them. The role they play being so important, however we have them anesthetized.

In this process there is a key word, acceptance, fundamentally of the thoughts that will try to divert us from the path and distract us. We will calmly try to redirect our attention to each moment, with that sensory opening. We will accept them without judging them.

We all have moments in which we feel that feeling of full enjoyment, when it seems that many pleasant sensations come together and we stop just to enjoy. It usually coincides with extraordinary situations, or at least with moments in which we have already predisposed ourselves to enjoyment voluntarily. And there we find meaning in life.

Well, this discipline gives us, with practice, that enjoyment. But not only the special or extraordinary, but also the most everyday and even routine. What’s more, attention is paid to the totality of experiences, both positive and negative. The present is lived fully.

Mindfulness changes the perception of ourselves, our life and our relationships with other people. It allows us to be ourselves, recognize our emotions without getting caught up in them, to live with greater intensity, to be more flexible, understanding… People who practice it significantly increase their physical and psychological well-being, reducing stress and anxiety. . The effectiveness of the immune system is increased. Relieves pain, improves sleep. There is a greater chance of overcoming depression or addictions. It enhances creativity, concentration, memory and increases our self-esteem and self-confidence. By practicing simple exercises we can learn this technique and incorporate it into our daily lives. Capturing the moment is within our reach.
